Beautiful area and first time visitor though it's practically in my back yard. Thought it would be a great place to take the dogs on a walk and didn't realize until getting there it's not a place to bring your dogs after seeing a sign posted on a trail head. Passed security on one of the trails and they never said anything about having the pups but I'll respect the posted signs going forward and as a result of the rule, it's unlikely I'll be going back anytime soon sadly enough.

I did get a chance to grab a few photos before heading back out and certainly if your a person who enjoys tranquility, running, walking, biking or just being outdoors close to nature, this is a place to visit.

Love going on walks here to observe the nature. Some of the trails get pretty close to the water so I always feel the need to be on high alert of my surroundings. Have had some incredible views of alligators, and I recommend some binoculars to see them from a safe distance! The trail leading to the rookery trail allows you to see the gators from a safe distance. The only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the smell from the solid waste mountain.

second time going here and it's one of my fave places in west palm beach (there's not many imo) to go for a walk/hike. got a little lost on the trails, as in I thought I was on a particular trail and I guess not but I didn't see a trail map posted along there. but anyway I think its rookery trails apparent closed from feb-sept for bird nesting. I just went back the way I came so not truly lost lol. much of this trail is shady which is great (I've gone beterrn 10am-1pm). and u don't really hear any cars or sounds of civilization except for one patch of trail I noticed that's along the waste management facility. but for the most part you're surrounded by trees and nature and it is marvelous ✨️ 🥹🥰 also, parking is free. I didn't see any restrooms.

This gorgeous and very expansive natura area is a place you can spend hours of your time observing wildlife, waterscapes and different types of greenery. There's a long path where many people bike. Several different short trails which all connect to the longer path. I saw enormous alligators and large waterfowl, wading birds and fish. A great location for a hike or just a serene walk amongst trees.

The trails are wonderful to hike or ride. Tons of wildlife. I've seen bobcats, deer, otters, raccoons, alligators and every wading bird including rosette spoonbills.

Great place to see BIG GATORS close up and personal ....All along the Path towards the waste treatment plant then to the Ibis colony. Be alert and don't be stupid. Have seen these gators take black vultures & a raccoon unfortunate enough to fall in the water,
ALSo Ibis storks Herons egrets & Osprey fish the ponds along the road regularly . BE ALERT

Wow, wow and wow. This trail system is large and full of wildlife. You can hear the distant wirr of a power plant, but beyond that, it was a full return to nature in my own back yard of Palm Beach.
