Our experience with Monster Windows and Ran Mashash was nothing short of frustrating, disappointing, and costly due to a clear lack of skilled workers, attention to detail, professionalism, and follow-through. You hire them believing you're getting trained, knowledgeable, and experienced professionals. What you actually get is a crew that lacks proper skills, delivers subpar work, and repeatedly makes mistakes—only to dismiss concerns with, “Oh, we can fix that.” But nothing ever gets fixed. And honestly, it never should have happened in the first place. Instead of doing things right from the start, they overpromise and underdeliver, leaving you with incomplete, unacceptable results.
Most Glaring:
Painting Issues – Uneven, splotchy painting. An interior white was incorrectly used on exterior surfaces due to a language barrier and lack of communication, resulting in mismatched areas.
Unskilled Sloppiness – The team left nails, screws, and garbage on the property. A worker even emptied trash from his truck at the curb. With our permission, they used our ladders, Shop-Vac, and tools without cleaning them, burning out the Shop-Vac motor and leaving ladders covered in paint and skim coat.
Skim Coating & Ceiling Finishing – The skim coat is lumpy, uneven, and already cracking. A second company questioned if the joints were improperly taped.
Window & Door Installation Issues – The front door was damaged in their warehouse, and the replacement Ran ordered was a lower-quality door with mismatched trim and missing the solar glaze. The master bedroom sliding door was installed incorrectly, with two identical panels instead of a proper left-right configuration. One panel has exterior trim facing inside, while the other has interior trim facing outside. The handles are not flush on the exterior (which prevents the screen from covering the door opening), and according to the manufacturer, this option was never available. While we understood the larger PGT doors were due to the custom XL size, we were assured the bedroom sliding door would match in color, molding, and recessed handles—it does not. Windows were ordered incorrectly and do not open in the specified direction (right to left or left to right).
Interior Doors – Custom interior doors were installed incorrectly, damaging the molding. The team also lost covers for the invisible hinges, leaving some exposed.
Exterior Work – The outdoor soffit was supposed to be smoothed but was left looking like a jigsaw puzzle.
Woodwork Issues – Wood above floor to nearly ceiling door frames was not primed before painting, causing visible splotches. Rust spots are now showing through, probably due to the use of non-galvanized screws.
Contractor Licensing – Ran claims to be a licensed general contractor, but we could not find an active license under his name. The company is registered under his wife’s name.
Negligence & Safety Hazards – Their lack of cleanup led to a serious incident where my senior cat required emergency surgery after being injured by debris left on the property.
These are the hard lessons we've learned about construction in South Florida.
Avoid falling for contractor “puffery”—exaggerated claims that mislead customers about their actual capabilities. We call it B.S. Here’s how to protect yourself:
✔ Verify they have a valid general contractor’s license—not one borrowed from an uncle, friend, or paid third party.
✔ Check their permit history to see if their experience matches the scale of your project. Installing one sliding door is very different from installing an entire wall of them.
✔ Never pay via Zelle, cash, or check. These methods leave you with no recourse. Use a credit card and hold the bulk of the payment until the job is done to your satisfaction.
✔ Avoid PACE loans—especially if the contractor claims they need the money released in advance due to the size of the job. PACE loans should only be paid out after completion and your full approval.
Bottom Line: If you expect professionalism, quality workmanship, and honest business practices, look elsewhere.

I’ve been working with Ron, the owner, for years. He has installed accordion shutters, all my bathrooms with glass enclosures and is now installing impact glass windows on a home I recently bought. I had an unfortunate accident in my garage, nothing to do with R&M. Ron immediately came to my home, called his brother and I had a brand new motorized garage door installed in 2 days. He has always been extremely honest and gives me the best advice on what is best for my home…and my wallet!
I cannot say enough positive things about the way Ron and his wife, Ariel, run their business; he’s hands on throughout! He genuinely cares about his clients and their happiness.
I recommended Ron to my broker/realtor who flips houses. I would never recommend someone if I didn’t have complete trust in him, in his integrity and in the quality of the work. He has excellent workers who are respectful, very good at what they do and are professional.
I confidently recommend R&M Monster Windows! I’m adding to this review because my slightly tinted impact windows have been installed. They are magnificent! Ron uses the best quality glass that you cannot buy at Home Depot or Lowe’s. Neighbors complimented them saying they’re so much nicer than their impact windows. A stranger drove by and asked me who I used. The windows are very classy and have exponentially beautified my home. Ron even took into consideration my arthritic hands so he suggested slider windows for the bigger windows. My patio pocket sliders are large and I can easily open and close them. I wouldn’t have anyone but Ron do work in my home. His workers are efficient, experienced and clean up after the job is done.

This Company is the real deal. Ron the owner is Awesome, he's fair and honest and has a great personality. Would definitely recommend had mirrors and shower doors installed they did an OUTSTANDING JOB!

I had a skylight broken by a golfer. Every company I called told me they do not do skylights. As soon as I called them they have been very helpful. They sent a technician in an hour and explained all my options to replace the broken one. They came when the glass was ready and installed it perfectly. I highly recommend R&M Monster Windows

These guys are true professionals, under promise and over perform, came to my house on a Sunday gave me a quote no obligation. I received a second quote from Home Depot guys they were very generic and not custom like Ron and his team. Recieved glass one week after I ordered, these guys are fast!! Home Depot wanted to give me cheaper glass and cheaper hardware I decided spending a little more money w R&M and going with the local company, boy did I benefit. I love my shower thank you guys, also your install team is amazing! Clean, respectful and good work!

I have my shower doors installed today and I'm very happy with all process from start to finish. RON(the boss) was very friendly, gave me estimate at once during first appointment, since I did extensive research, I new what good price is and his estimate was just right. Technicians were very professional and friendly, they clean up everything after them. I would reffer this company to anyone who need this kind work done professionally and on timely manner.
