I came to Runners Need (upstairs of Cotswold) because I needed a new pair of shoes and was looking for something comfortable for walking long distance. I just can't get on with the likes of Nike anymore. I have wide feet and high arches and I find the quality of Nike has gone down so much over the years to the point that they're more for looks than comfort.

The lady here who helped me measured my feet properly and helped me try on a few different pairs and brands. I ended up with a pair of Brooks Ghost's. They're a wide fit, breathable and very light. The most comfortable shoes I've ever worn in my 36 years on earth. They are worth every penny and they're definitely the way forward for me.

The staff here are knowledgeable and the lady who helped me was so insightful and her knowledge suggests I've been choosing the wrong kind of shoes for my feet for a very long time.

Thank you guys, I'll be back for more!

I was looking for hiking boots in my size and needed some advice. After trying a couple of other stores in town—where either there were no hiking boots at all, my size wasn’t available, or the staff didn’t really know much—I was pleasantly surprised when I came to Cotswold Outdoor.

The staff were really helpful, taking the time to talk me through the different types of hiking boots and helping me figure out which would be best for me. They even brought out a couple of options so I could feel the difference, which was really useful. On top of that, they mentioned a discount for National Trust members, which was a nice bonus!

The staff were knowledgeable, patient, and friendly, which made a big difference. The only downside is that the store itself could do with a bit of a refresh, and it’s quite easy to miss on Northumberland Street because the entrance isn’t the most obvious. There are some bad reviews here but I must have been lucky with the staff who served me

That said, if you’re looking for outdoor gear and great service, I’d definitely recommend stopping by!

Great shop in Newcastle, outdoor equipment is never cheap, but if you want top branding Hocking, walking or cycling equipment it's probably the best shop in town for the range it's got in stock

I came in to buy walking boots and Ruby was really helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about all the option's. I walked out happy with a pair of the quest 4s after lots of walking around the shop, plus they could price match with some I found online!

Every item was tickered as 50% reduction, we picked an item priced at £180 with tickets on the rack saying 50% off being a black friday deal but salesman informed us that deal had ended. Other customers in the shop were as surprised as we were due to the fact that it was black Friday the next day, due to this event a number of customers and ourselves will not visit your store again .0/10.rubbish.

Absolutely terrible shop.
Staff ignore customers, despite the shop being very quiet, they prefer to chat than do their job.
When I finally managed to get someone's begrudged attention, out of a selection 4 different pairs of high end walking shoes,they only had one in stock in my size 10, which isn't uncommon. Absolutely hopeless.
Staff member even suggested buying online. Unbelievable, considering Cotswold emphasise the importance in getting the correct fit and their in-store fitting service in achieving this.
