100% the BEST hospital experience from beginning to end! I cannot thank the staff enough. They took care of and treated my very sick little one and my family's jewel is home safe. Every single person involved from the surgeon to the janitors are professional. No bad attitudes. No nonsense. No unnecessary tests or scans. May God bless you all. Thank you from the bottom of my grateful heart.

My grandson is having a serious surgery here today. There was a 2hr delay due to the surgical kit having a hole in the wrap, it had to be sterilized again. Thank goodness they sound that, but they said they didn't have a backup kit that was sterilized. Then another 1hr to 90 min wait after that (no reason given). Our family moved to the downstairs waiting area 1st floor, there were 8 family members here and we pulled chairs closer so we didn't have to talk loud to hear each other. The chairs were 4ft apart and a 20ft to 25ft gap across from each other. The security desk officer came over to say the hospital Director wanted us to move the chairs back, we couldn't sit together like we were (close). Seriously? So now we are having to apply volume for our voices to carry across the way to hear one another? We have heard for years how this is the #1 hospital for children. Today - there has been no experience I've had here so far that supports this is even a children's hospital. I will never recommend this hospital to anyone.

Dear Administration,

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding my recent experience at Prims Health Children’s Hospital on 1/29/2025 where I accompanied a 15-year-old youth who was in crisis due to suicidal ideations. The treatment we received raised serious concerns about fairness and potential racial discrimination.

Upon our arrival at 8:11 PM, we were taken to the back by 8:30 PM. Unfortunately, the youth was left in an open area without being offered a private room or any food or refreshments for about two hours. We did not receive any medical attention until approximately 10 PM, when a doctor finally assessed the situation. A mental health specialist subsequently spoke with the youth and expressed disbelief regarding his statements, initially recommending discharge. After further discussion, she ultimately decided to admit him for an overnight stay.

During our wait, we were placed in a hallway near the nursing station, where we felt overlooked as staff members walked by without acknowledging our presence or providing updates. Unfortunately, I observed a troubling pattern where African American patients appeared to be similarly neglected, left waiting without updates or expectations for assistance.

At 11 PM, I inquired about obtaining documentation to confirm the admission of the teen, only to be told that I would need to wait for the charter nurse to return. Furthermore, when I requested the corporate contact information while leaving, the nurse's response was rude and aggressive, which only added to my distress.
Also nurse Sydney Tucker was VERY rude and aggressive and initially refused to provide a contact number to corporate when asked , she stated at the emergency room counter “ the phone number is on google “
I believe it is essential for your institution to address these matters seriously, ensuring that all patients and their families receive equitable treatment and timely communication, regardless of their background. I urge you to investigate these incidents and implement measures to prevent their recurrence.

Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I look forward to your prompt response

I love that the staff will speak with your child and explain everything that will happen and let them know what to expect. They are wonderful with kids and do all they can to make them feel safe and make sure they are comfortable. The only thing I dislike about it was they had us to be at 11am but did not grab him until 3pm. My son was very hungry and became very thirsty. They had new staff folks come in and introduced themselves because the previous staff went to lunch (my son was voicing to me how unfair that was). Love how Dr. Penne explained everything to my son and I. Dr. Penne even drew a picture to show my son all what he was going to do during surgery.

We have had to visit this hospital often for procedures and emergency care since it is one of the closest to our home. I personally have not had good experiences with Prisma as an adult but the children’s hospital has been good to us. They have a playground for the kids and toys in different departments which is helpful. Most of the staff we have interacted with have been professional and nice.
